Surveying runs in the Hubbard family blood, with both Simon’s father and grandfather working in the profession. Simon spent many a school holiday shadowing his father, working as a Chartered Surveyor.

Now working as a surveyor in his own right, Simon loves being out and about meeting new people and seeing different property types. He enjoys the challenge of identifying and diagnosing building defects and finds it rewarding to help clients in the buying process by providing comprehensive reports.

Professional Qualifications

Not surprisingly, Simon studied for a degree in property studies at university and then became an Associate Member of RICS (AssocRICS).

Career Highlight

Keen to pass on his passion for surveying, Simon has enjoyed the privilege of mentoring a trainee surveyor to attain their AssocRICS certification. The trainee had in-depth property industry knowledge but no surveying background, which Simon could share.

Hobbies and Interests

Simon enjoys spending quality time with his family and taking his son to Beavers and mini rugby training. The family tries to get away as often as possible in their vintage 1973 VW Campervan in the summer.

A keen sportsman, Simon enjoys mountain biking and canoeing. He also plays rugby, cricket and golf - despite trying to lower his monstrously high golf handicap.

Simon’s claim to fame is that he was a model for the Happy Shopper Christmas brochure toy section as a child.
